Interior:  Buyers want to be able to see a clean & uncluttered look when they enter your home.  Discard unused items and store those personal items that may take up space in a room. Walls and windows should be clean, carpets should be shampooed and vacuumed, leaky faucets need to be repaired, closets need to be cleaned out to show spaciousness and all areas should be neat and organized.  Also, make sure your home smells good if you have pets.

Exterior:  The exterior of your home will be the first thing a prospective buyer will see.  Creating a very good first impression is crucial. Keep the lawn trimmed and edged, weed flower gardens and put away toys and lawn equipment. Wash down driveways and sidewalks, and replace any cracked windows or torn screens.  Make sure your entrance light, doorbell and door are in good repair.  Brighten your front entrance door or sidewalk with flowers.

Home Improvement: Small repairs should be made. But on the other hand, don’t over improve. Use caution when planning major improvements that you think will earn you more money than you spent. Hilton Realty & Investment can advise you in these matters.
Showing Your Home:  First impressions mean everything to a home buyer. Remember, they want to feel like it can be their home, so you want to do your best to make your home look “anonymous.” Keep the TV and radio off, make sure dishes and clothes are put away and leave drapes open for light.
